Jan Hammer Biography
Jan Hammer found success in the realm of jazz fusion. He was a charter
member of John McLaughlin's legendary Mahavishnu Orchestra.
Jan Hammer is perhaps best known, however, for his work on the soundtrack
for Miami Vice. The opening theme music climbed to number one on the pop
singles charts. The album found international success, and brought Hammer
two Grammys for Best Instrumental Performance and Best Instrumental
Composition.
